Refused to listen despite knowing about my anxiety

I was a patient at the Forum health centre for approximately 25 years as an out-of-area patient, and after relocating just a short distance away, I attempted multiple times to remain registered there. Following several conversations with management and discussions involving the clinical team, I was informed that they were unable to continue my registration. Despite having completed documentation upon joining the practice stating I would not require home visits, and despite being told by reception staff at the time that such visits were not routinely provided anyway, the decision remained unchanged. I felt that my concerns about this situation were not adequately considered, even though the team were aware of my anxieties. One clinician explained that the practice had a large patient list and needed to manage capacity for new registrations. This situation coincided with my own house move after many years in my previous home, which compounded my distress during an already difficult period. The contrast with my current practice, where I have found the team to be understanding, welcoming and attentive, has been striking. I had believed I had built a positive relationship at my previous surgery, but this experience has changed that perception significantly. The circumstances have affected both my physical and mental wellbeing, and I have felt genuinely hurt by how the matter was handled.

The Forum Health Centre

Forum Health Centre already has one of the largest catchment areas in Coventry and is one of the fastest growing practices. We are obliged by NHS England to maintain capacity for patients within our catchment area with community support services also aligned to GP catchment areas.
