Registration process left me frustrated and confused

I attended the practice to register and submitted my completed forms at reception. The receptionist confirmed that my area was covered and indicated the registration process would take between five to ten days. After three weeks had passed, I contacted the practice to arrange an appointment as I had been experiencing health issues for an extended period. I was informed that my registration had not yet been completed due to the practice being busy. Later that day, the receptionist called back to advise that I would need to register elsewhere as my postcode fell outside their coverage area. This contradicted what I had been told initially and what the practice website states regarding their service area. When I pointed out that my registration had already been accepted, I was asked to provide my personal details multiple times by the same member of staff who had processed my forms weeks earlier. The only response I received was that my details were not showing in their system, despite having submitted the paperwork. I find it concerning that in the current healthcare environment, patients face such difficulties when attempting to register with a practice. When I rarely require medical attention, typically once every few years, the registration and appointment process proves extremely challenging. I was disappointed with how this situation was managed and would hope that other patients do not encounter similar experiences.
