Repeat prescriptions process is frustratingly difficult

A couple of clinicians at this practice stand out as genuinely competent, which represents the only positive aspect I can highlight. Securing appointments presents considerable difficulty, and the process for obtaining repeat medications is frustratingly cumbersome, often stretching across multiple weeks with back-and-forth communications and reception staff proving unhelpful and obstructive throughout. The digital platform functions poorly and lacks proper integration with the NHS app, which has become practically essential given how challenging it is to book appointments through conventional means. A recent situation exemplified these issues when I was required to attend an in-person consultation with an unfamiliar clinician to review my medications, despite having received a review just ten days earlier where I was advised that dosage adjustments might be necessary. However, these medications could not be dispensed despite being on my repeat list, as an in-person appointment was deemed mandatory, with availability only ten days away, meaning I would effectively be without medication for that period after being told continuity was critical. Attempting to circumvent such frustrating and seemingly avoidable appointments by requesting medications in advance proves counterproductive, as these requests are rejected for being premature. The overall coordination between different parts of the service is severely lacking, and the experience feels fundamentally flawed.
