Rude doctor made my health journey even worse

I informed my GP about nighttime breathing difficulties and was given an appointment two weeks later. During my "out of hours" doctor consultation, the interaction was extremely unpleasant. After enduring six months of silent reflux, I came prepared with questions, but the doctor's demeanor was hostile and dismissive. She seemed intent on rushing me out of the room and became visibly irritated when my mother attempted to ask a question. The professionalism was severely lacking, especially considering the lengthy wait for this consultation. When I sought clarity about the potential causes of my reflux, she condescendingly attributed everything to stress, which I found deeply inappropriate. It's offensive to suggest a patient's illness stems from stress while simultaneously providing such poor, aggravating service. In fact, my only source of stress has been the inconsistent healthcare treatment I've experienced. Reflux can result from numerous factors, and I had hoped for a compassionate, thorough exploration of my symptoms. I want to acknowledge that not all medical professionals are like this. Some doctors, such as Dr. Seedat, have been incredibly supportive and cooperative. It would be wonderful if all healthcare staff approached patients with the same level of respect, empathy, and genuine desire to help.
