Rude Reception Ruins New Patient Experience

Earlier this week, my son and I signed up with the practice since we are newcomers to the area and had received excellent recommendations. After completing our initial registration, we received a text instructing us to register with SystemOnline, which we promptly did. We were informed that in order to finalize this process, it was necessary for us to bring photo identification when visiting the practice. We arrived today, Friday 30th May, at around 4:30 PM. The reception staff's demeanor was utterly unacceptable; one of the girls refused to acknowledge our presence as we approached the desk, clearly uninterested in assisting anyone. Fortunately, her coworker engaged with us and mentioned that she wasn’t aware who had informed us about needing ID because it actually wasn't required. She then turned toward her colleague for confirmation; however, without making eye contact or showing any regard for our situation—treating us merely as bothersome—the other girl dismissively shook her head while resting her chin on her hand. I interact with the public every day in my job. If I or any member of my team displayed even a fraction of such an atrocious attitude as what we experienced today, there would be serious consequences including removal from positions and strict disciplinary actions taken against us. We were trying to take a constructive step in settling into our new environment by coming together after work hours at our new health center and fulfilling their request. Instead of feeling welcomed or appreciated upon leaving this encounter today—quite the opposite—we felt disrespected and undervalued. This entire experience has left me extremely frustrated!
