Rude receptionist ruined my otherwise great experience

On 26/05/2022 at 12:55, I visited the doctor's office and encountered a receptionist whose shift was ending at 1pm. Earlier, I had consulted a doctor about a health concern, and they recommended comprehensive tests and a follow-up. The doctor advised me to book an appointment and collect specific samples. When I approached the reception, I explained the situation courteously, as I always treat staff with respect. However, the receptionist's response was shockingly unprofessional. She made dismissive facial expressions and initially claimed she had no record of my doctor's instructions. When I asked about scheduling, she responded curtly, telling me to come "any time" with a hostile attitude. Frustrated and upset, I left feeling unheard and disrespected. It seemed like she didn't believe my explanation. Fortunately, I later called back and spoke with another receptionist - someone I've interacted with before who is consistently helpful. She located the doctor's note and promptly scheduled my appointment. Despite this negative interaction, I generally appreciate this medical practice. The doctors are supportive, and most staff members are kind. I hope the earlier receptionist learns that patients deserve compassion and respect, especially when discussing health concerns. Treating people with kindness costs nothing and can make a significant difference in someone's experience.
