Rude receptionists ruin otherwise great medical practice

The medical professionals at this clinic, particularly Dr O'Malley and the nursing team, are excellent. However, the reception staff are a significant problem. This morning, I experienced an appalling interaction with a receptionist (whose name sounded like Rodge or Raj) who was incredibly unprofessional. She spoke over me, dismissed my concerns about online booking difficulties, and abruptly ended the call with a hostile attitude. Her communication skills are unacceptable for someone representing a medical practice. I would be mortified to have such an aggressive individual as the first point of contact for patients. The way I was treated was completely unacceptable, with the receptionist acting like an aggressive gatekeeper rather than a helpful staff member. I am definitely filing a formal complaint. The Quality Care Commission should conduct a thorough review of St Peter's Surgery, as the service quality has dramatically declined since the pandemic. The reception staff urgently need training in basic customer service, compassion, and professional communication. No patient should be spoken to disrespectfully, especially when they are already feeling unwell and vulnerable.
