Shouted at over engine in car park

I dropped my partner off to pick up a prescription and was waiting in the car park for just a couple of minutes when someone, who I believe was a healthcare professional, opened a window and called out asking me to switch off my engine. If the practice wants visitors to turn off their engines in the car park, it would be more professional to display signage rather than shouting across from a window.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry you felt the interaction was unprofessional, but our team regularly reminds visitors to switch off their engines in the car park to help reduce emissions and protect the health of patients, staff, and nearby residents — particularly those with respiratory conditions. The request was made with that in mind, not to cause offence. We’ll certainly consider adding clearer signage to avoid any future misunderstanding, but we do ask all visitors to please respect this policy.
