Six days of phone call frustration

For six consecutive days, I've been attempting to schedule a GP appointment, with the first five days resulting in complete failure to even enter the queue. While I recognize the current healthcare pressures, the process of making dozens of calls (today's 29 attempts were actually considered low) just to join a waiting list, only to find zero available appointments, is absurdly frustrating. How can this system possibly accommodate elderly or vulnerable patients? My friend, who is in her early 90s, has completely abandoned trying to contact the surgery due to these insurmountable barriers, which undoubtedly poses significant risks to her health. E-Consult was non-functional, and when operational, it simply redirected me back to the surgery. My medical concern isn't severe enough for A&E or Urgent Care, leaving me in a bewildering predicament. Am I expected to passively wait, hoping my condition miraculously resolves (which it certainly won't), or deteriorate to the point of becoming an urgent case?
