Staff dismissive attitude left pain unaddressed

I was referred to this practice by 111 during the late evening due to significant swelling and pain in my gums. The clinician who examined me did not introduce herself, and I found her manner to be dismissive and sarcastic. Given that it was nearly midnight and I was experiencing severe discomfort, I felt her approach was unhelpful and insensitive. She suggested the issue was related to tooth eruption and recommended I go home and maintain my oral hygiene routine. She did not offer any pain relief measures or practical guidance relevant to my presenting concern. Instead, she focused on emphasizing the importance of brushing teeth and seeing a hygienist, which felt patronizing rather than addressing the underlying problem I had come to have assessed. I felt frustrated and embarrassed by the interaction rather than supported. Several days later, when the pain had worsened, I attended another dental practice. That clinician identified that my gum was infected, prescribed antibiotics, provided clear instructions on gum care, and explained the cause of the issue. This subsequent consultation made me realize that the infection had not been identified during my initial visit. Without seeking a second opinion, I would have remained unaware of the infection, which could have become more serious. I was disappointed by the quality of care and the manner in which the appointment concluded.
