Teacher Frustrated by Inflexible Medical Appointment System

Over the last fortnight, I have been trying to arrange an appointment, yet the existing system seems utterly dysfunctional for people in careers like mine. As an educator, the allocated 1:30 PM time slot for urgent sessions is completely untenable. Even though I diligently call at 8:00 AM each day as directed, I consistently receive instructions to ring back at 1:30 PM—an option that simply does not work given my job responsibilities. The rigidity of this approach and its inability to cater to the varied requirements of patients is highly troubling, especially considering that my situation has already been prioritized through a referral from NHS 111. The ongoing denial of an appointment raises significant concerns regarding the level of care owed to patients who cannot meet these arbitrary scheduling constraints due to their work commitments. If my health were to worsen because of this barrier preventing timely medical assistance, it could lead to potential liability issues for the surgery on grounds of negligence. It is crucial that the practice re-evaluates its scheduling framework so as to provide equitable and reasonable access for all individuals seeking care, irrespective of their occupational demands.
