Terrible communication and lost in nhs system

I showed up for my appointment with genuine expectations, only to be left in complete uncertainty for an extended period. No communication—be it phone calls, emails, or postal correspondence—reached me regarding my referral, prescription, or subsequent medical steps. I later uncovered that my contact information had been incorrectly entered, including an erroneous phone number, effectively blocking any critical updates. My referral details and follow-up communications were exclusively routed to an NHS online portal I knew nothing about. Nobody informed me that I needed to monitor this platform or that all communication would be channeled solely through this system. Consequently, this communication breakdown forced me to seek private medical care to obtain the necessary treatment and imaging—resulting in substantial personal costs of time, financial resources, and unnecessary emotional strain. This level of administrative incompetence is utterly unacceptable. At minimum, I should have been transparently advised about the communication channel and provided with accurate contact information. It appears they're employing staff with minimal professional competence.
