Terrible customer service ruins first impression

I scheduled an appointment by phone but received an incorrect date, leading me to arrive for self-service check-in only to be told 'no'. The receptionist I encountered was incredibly irritable and absolutely convinced the error was mine. It would have been refreshing to receive a warm greeting or a helpful 'how can I assist you' instead of being made to feel like an unwelcome nuisance. The reality is that when you're positioned at the reception desk, your initial interaction sets the tone for the entire customer experience.
