My eldest brother was suffering from intense pain, unaware of his gallstones. I attempted to schedule a GP appointment for him, but was informed he wasn't registered. I promptly obtained a registration form, completed it immediately, and submitted all required documentation. However, the receptionist stated the registration would take five to six working days. Given the critical nature of my brother's condition, I was compelled to take him to the hospital, where we endured a grueling nine-hour wait. Two weeks later, when I returned to book an appointment, I was told to wait another five days. Upon my next visit, I was stunned to discover they had misplaced my brother's registration form. Despite extensive searching, they could not locate it anywhere in the reception area. I was repeatedly instructed to complete another form, which was incredibly exasperating. Eventually, after consulting the manager, my brother was instantly added to their system. Subsequently, my father was struck by a van that ran over his leg. I scheduled an appointment at the same GP practice. When attempting to confirm his sick note with the receptionist, I was made to feel incompetent. After departing, I observed the reception staff laughing and mocking the situation, which was profoundly distressing. As you can understand, navigating such challenging circumstances is immensely difficult, and being solely responsible for someone is an overwhelming burden. Healthcare providers are meant to offer support, so being treated so poorly was a devastating letdown. I have been registered with numerous GP practices previously, but this ranks as arguably the most appalling experience I have encountered. I would absolutely not recommend this practice to anyone. The reception staff are consistently unhelpful, perpetually engaged in casual conversation and laughter instead of assisting patients, and consistently appear irritated when asked even the simplest clarifying questions.
