Terrible healthcare service with rude and unhelpful staff

The healthcare service here is appalling, and the surgical standards seem even worse. The reception staff desperately need comprehensive customer service training - their attitude is completely unacceptable. Here's a specific incident: I visit the doctor for my daughter, who examines her and advises getting medication from the pharmacy. I inquire about a prescription, and they casually suggest I can just go to the chemist. At the pharmacy, I'm informed I'll need a prescription or face a 15-pound charge. Principled, I call the surgery back, only to be confronted by a staff member who incredulously asks, "Are you seriously telling me you can't afford 15 pounds for your child's medicine?" Utterly inappropriate - how dare they make assumptions about my financial situation? Her condescending tone was infuriating. I explained that while I could afford the cost, many others couldn't, and I could have been among those struggling. The fundamental issue is that I shouldn't have to pay for my 5-year-old daughter's medication - a proper prescription should have been issued. Absolutely outrageous! Today, I made a pointless trip to the chemist, being assured my prescription would be sent. After nearly two hours since my call with the doctor, no prescription has arrived. May heaven help us all.
