Terrible healthcare with unhelpful receptionist nightmare

Unfortunately, I'm compelled to give one star, though this establishment hardly merits even that. I'm genuinely bewildered by how this operates as a medical practice. If you can navigate past the authoritarian, control-obsessed receptionist who seemingly believes she's qualified to provide medical advice, you might actually consult a doctor. For the past two and a half weeks, this same receptionist has been fielding my calls, repeatedly asserting that I don't require medical attention. This contradicts the walk-in center's diagnosis of sciatica and recommendation to see my GP if the pain persisted. She continually dismisses me, insisting I cannot see a doctor until I've first consulted a physiotherapist, despite my urgent need for pain management as my painkillers have been exhausted. After persistently calling the surgery since October 4th, I finally secured an appointment at Lansdown Avenue yesterday (14/10/24). However, I discovered I couldn't see a doctor, as the receptionist had only scheduled me with a physiotherapist incapable of prescribing medication or making hospital referrals. I'm now left with excruciating left leg pain, completely uncertain about my next steps, and without any pain relief. I'm astounded by the continued employment of this receptionist, and I'm certain I'm not the only patient she's mishandled. Regrettably, after two decades of loyalty to this surgery, I've concluded it's time to seek medical care elsewhere.
