Terrible medical practice with frustrating appointment system

I'm utterly disgusted by this medical practice. They used to be reputable, but now they're terrible. For two weeks, I've been attempting to schedule an appointment via telephone, so I decided to visit in person, especially since their message states "Appointments for the doctor are available via telephone or face to face". On August 1st, 2022, I arrived at 8:28am and approached the desk at 8:30am. To my absolute astonishment, I was informed I must phone in and cannot book an appointment in person. How exclusionary is that?! What provisions exist for deaf individuals or those without phones?! Moreover, why does their telephone message claim appointments can be booked by phone or in-person (which I've recorded)? Even worse, I lingered and dialed multiple times between 8:30am and 8:32am, only to receive a message that the surgery is closed. Returning inside to inquire, I found staff casually chatting with no phones ringing. They insist the phone lines are open. I continued dialing until 9am, encountering only busy signals or closure messages. Observing through the glass doors, I noticed only one person occasionally answering the phone. They clearly weren't overwhelmed, which made me question their true intentions! At 9am, I finally got through, only to be told no appointments remain. They're bewildered why patients resort to A&E or hospital settings instead of attempting a GP appointment. I'll absolutely be changing practices - this is completely unacceptable!
