Terrible Patient Care at Bradford Surgery

Where to begin. #1. Despite covid restrictions being lifted in the UK for 10 months, the surgery continues to maintain locked doors, forcing patients to request entry and communicate sensitive information through a reception window. This practice violates patient privacy, breaches GDPR regulations and NHS charter, and potentially creates safeguarding risks for vulnerable individuals. #2. Obtaining a GP appointment is virtually impossible. In the past year, my wife and I have only consulted a fully qualified doctor twice. Any attempt to seek treatment results in being redirected to a Nurse Practitioner. Patients must first disclose confidential medical concerns to an untrained receptionist who emails the GP to determine whether the patient "deserves" attention - despite the doctor being paid with taxpayer and NHS funding. #3. Securing a referral is equally challenging. For the past month, my wife has been attempting to obtain a specialist treatment referral, repeatedly told the medical secretary is absent. Upon follow-up calls, she is either given the same excuse or summarily hung up on. The reception team appears to forget they are NHS employees meant to serve the public, not mistreat vulnerable and desperate patients. #4. Medication requests are routinely ignored, leaving patients without essential medications and receiving no explanation or apology from the surgery. #5. Any complaint or expression of dissatisfaction is met with accusations of being "abusive" and immediate call termination. The reception staff and practice manager seem more interested in avoiding accountability than addressing systemic failures in their duty of care. Anyone seeking a GP surgery in Bradford should look elsewhere. Here, you will encounter abuse, neglect, and malpractice rather than treatment or assistance. I will be escalating my complaints to the ombudsman, CQC, patient advocacy, and NHS Trust, as this surgery desperately requires external oversight to prevent profiting from patients' suffering.
