Terrible phone system fails patients and doctors

The recently installed phone system is utterly abysmal. The front desk staff seem to believe they're more knowledgeable than the medical professionals. It's baffling how a practice with numerous doctors can make it so impossible to schedule an appointment, especially for parents with young children in need of medical attention. You start to understand why emergency rooms are overwhelmed with cases that could have been handled by a general practitioner. When you attempt to call, all you encounter is an automated message saying they can't answer, and you're left wondering if they've deliberately turned off their communication lines.
