Terrible practice with awful customer service

Absolute nightmare of a general practitioner! STEER CLEAR! I'm dealing with legitimate, long-standing health challenges that significantly impact my daily functioning - conditions my doctor has been aware of and treating for years. When I simply requested a medical confirmation letter to help me seek workplace accommodations, the dismissive receptionist informed me that the practice manager wants ME to draft the letter and then submit it for her potential approval, along with determining a fee. It gets even more outrageous - a week later, I receive a call demanding I bring £50 in cash for this letter. The entire process is incredibly suspicious: the letter isn't even being written by my actual physician, but by an administrative manager, and then I'm expected to pay cash directly to the reception staff? How is such a practice even permissible?!?
