Terrible Service After 17 Years at Surgery

I've been a patient at this medical practice for nearly two decades, and the quality of service has dramatically declined. The receptionist now attempts to play doctor during phone calls, actively discouraging patients from securing appointments. Securing a consultation seems to require extensive pleading and negotiation. Physicians are now conducting diagnoses remotely, displaying a dismissive and unsympathetic attitude. While I understand the staff are experiencing significant workplace pressures, it's crucial to remember that patients aren't seeking medical attention for enjoyment. Making individuals feel ashamed or burdensome when seeking help fundamentally undermines the principles of preventative healthcare. For anyone struggling with mental health concerns or potentially serious medical conditions, I cannot recommend this practice. The current approach seems more likely to discourage patients from seeking necessary medical intervention. Consequently, I am currently in the process of transferring to another medical practice. I genuinely hope they can restore their previously excellent reputation - this surgery was once considered among the finest in Reading.
