I've encountered several problematic situations now. Last year, I experienced a deeply personal issue where a receptionist was completely unprofessional. She carelessly misread my results over the phone and was extremely discourteous. Even worse, while waiting for my appointment, my medical details were publicly displayed on a screen in the waiting room for everyone to see! I informed them this was a clear data protection violation and suggested legal action was possible. The doctor did eventually call to apologize. This year, I urgently needed specific medication and my prescription was sent to the practice. When I arrived to collect it, the same unhelpful receptionist claimed they were closing and directed me to my chemist, despite it being before 6:30 when they were still open. She blatantly lied! My prescription was right there! I've been struggling to secure an appointment for weeks due to potentially serious ongoing symptoms, and I'm restricted to calling only at 8am on Tuesdays. While some doctors and nurses at the practice have been excellent, thorough, and compassionate, one particular physician consistently fails to listen. They interrupt constantly and remain fixated on their computer screen. I've previously left consultations feeling distressed and dismissed, with nothing more than a blood test form thrust at me. Fortunately, another doctor referred me to hospital immediately, where I was diagnosed with a condition requiring urgent treatment within weeks to prevent further bodily damage. I'm truly grateful I sought a second opinion. Overall, I'm extremely dissatisfied with my treatment!
