Terrible service from uncaring doctors at hollies road

My frail, aging Father rang up with what seems to be a respiratory infection, requesting a home visit as he's barely mobile. The response: "We don't do home visits" and instructions to call back tomorrow at 8.00. Doctors who refuse home visits? Completely ridiculous. I know someone whose wife is a GP who worked tirelessly throughout lockdown, seeing patients and conducting home visits. It appears Hollies Road is focused on maximizing patient numbers. They receive government funding for each patient registered. The era of GPs genuinely caring about patients more than their earnings is long gone. I've just received notification that they will no longer accept prescription requests via phone. These must now be submitted online or through a smartphone. Considering most repeat prescription patients are elderly, this will undoubtedly create significant challenges for them. It seems their goal is to minimize direct human interaction. They maintained telephone consultations well after lockdown ended and continue in the same manner. Securing appointments or even getting through on the phone will become even more difficult once the new housing developments around Lower Lane are completed. They'll certainly be taking on more patients Despite being unable to provide adequate service to existing patients - but hey, it's all about maximizing doctors' profits these days. p.s. some of the positive reviews look suspiciously like they've been written by staff or associates of the medical centre.
