I have been a patient at this medical practice for around half a year. Overall, I've found the practice satisfactory. However, yesterday I had an appointment with Dr Melchior for my infant. My scheduled time was 11:10, but we weren't seen until nearly 12:00. This was only after I approached the receptionist to inquire about the delay and request prompt attention, having already waited approximately 40 minutes. When finally called in, I expressed my frustration about the total wait time of nearly 50 minutes. I emphasized that I had arrived punctually and received no prior notification of such a significant delay. Dr Melchior provided what seemed like a perfunctory apology and hastily attempted to justify the wait, offering what I considered unconvincing explanations. When I questioned why he didn't check on waiting patients, he failed to provide a coherent response. After the appointment, I confirmed with reception that I had been properly checked in, which Dr Melchior had suggested might not have occurred. This appointment was already delayed by a month due to being deemed non-urgent, and I had no choice in physician assignment. Moving forward, I will actively avoid scheduling with Dr Melchior and seek alternative doctors. To those who, like me, find a 50-minute wait unacceptable, especially for a young child, I recommend avoiding appointments with Dr Melchior. Subsequently, I received an apologetic text message from Dr Melchior that again appeared to deflect blame onto reception staff. It seems unfair to place entire responsibility on receptionists who must manage frustrated patients. In this instance, I do not believe the receptionist was at fault, as they had correctly processed my check-in. My purpose in writing this review is to provide potential patients with an honest account of the service they might experience with this particular doctor. I hope this feedback is received constructively by Dr Melchior and the practice, as no parent should endure such prolonged waiting without clear justification.
