Unexpected clinician left mental health concerns unaddressed

I attended an appointment at a local medical centre regarding my ongoing mental health concerns. I had arranged the appointment anticipating I would see a GP, but I was instead consulted by a Clinical Pharmacist. While I recognise this may have been appropriate given my current medication, I was not informed of this beforehand, which left me feeling surprised and let down. Although I am thankful that my medication was prescribed for a two-month period, I felt the consultation centred predominantly on the medication rather than my mental health condition and recent circumstances. I would have appreciated more discussion about recent events, potential triggers, and how I had been managing emotionally, but these topics were not explored in depth during the appointment. I also had concerns regarding privacy during the consultation. The door was left open at times, which made me uncomfortable when discussing sensitive mental health matters, as I was concerned that conversations could be heard by others in the vicinity. In summary, while I am grateful my prescription was renewed, I felt that my mental health concerns were not thoroughly examined or addressed in the manner I had anticipated from the appointment.
