Unhelpful receptionists ruin patient experience

My interaction with the surgery has been somewhat satisfactory, but lately, the receptionist's attitude has been disappointingly unhelpful and lacking compassion. As someone who works in a medical practice, I understand that receptionists should be trained to assist patients with empathy, yet here it seems nearly impossible to secure a GP appointment due to the staff's obstructive approach. While I typically use the NHS app, on the rare occasions I've needed to call for my children's appointments, the reception staff have been dismissive, interrupting me and failing to listen to the underlying concerns. Having insider knowledge of how appointment systems operate, I strongly believe these staff members require additional training in empathy and patient communication. I am not one to submit negative feedback lightly, but after my recent experience of being denied an appointment for my daughter's test results—despite clear evidence of her anaemia—on my third attempt, I feel compelled to share my frustration.
