Unhelpful staff ruin potential good medical experience

The medical staff here includes some excellent physicians, but the front desk personnel can be quite discourteous. When my mother was advised by her doctor to schedule a follow-up visit, she encountered resistance from the receptionist, who claimed it would be unfair to other patients. This reasoning seems completely illogical. My mother is currently struggling with significant mental health challenges, and the receptionists have a professional responsibility to demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients, which was clearly lacking in this situation.
