Unprofessional administration and scheduling issues

My postpartum experience with this practice has been highly disappointing due to what seems like unprofessional administration and scheduling issues. As new parents, we expected a standard level of care and support during this critical time, but instead, we faced a series of frustrating, physically and emotionally draining incidents. Following advice from my wife’s midwife, we anticipated that her postnatal checkup, our baby’s checkup, and the first vaccination would all take place when our baby turned 8 weeks old. However, the receptionist scheduled the appointment at 6 weeks, and despite confirming with the staff that our baby could receive the vaccination early, we were turned away by the nurse, who informed us it was too soon. This resulted in additional appointments and unnecessary stress. My wife was also scheduled for her postnatal checkup during the same visit but was told to return the next day to see a female doctor, without any explanation. The following day, even the doctor seemed confused as to why the checkup hadn't been completed earlier. Further complications arose when we received conflicting appointment reminders for our baby's vaccination. After 40 minutes of trying to contact the clinic, we showed up only to be told once again that our baby was still not 8 weeks old, and the vaccination could not be administered. To make matters worse, the nurse implied it was our responsibility to know this, despite the clinic making the scheduling errors. This lack of clear communication and repeated mishandling of appointments has caused my wife immense emotional and physical distress. Repeated unnecessary trips to the clinic have also been financially burdensome, especially as a postpartum mother needing to focus on recovery. I encourage others to be vigilant and clarify details upfront to avoid a similarly stressful experience. I sincerely hope the management will address these issues to prevent future patients from enduring such treatment.
