Unprofessional and insensitive medical staff nightmare

This concerns an interaction with a staff member named Kay. My young adult family member, whom I'll refer to as T, called to inquire about a standard medical service procedure. During her call, the conversation unexpectedly escalated. When I noticed T becoming distressed, I took the phone and introduced myself to Kay. However, before I could explain the situation, Kay immediately demanded to speak directly to T. I informed her that T was experiencing anxiety and, given her history of seizures, I was intervening to prevent potential distress. Kay persisted, insisting on speaking with T and claiming the conversation was harmless. Upon hearing Kay's communication style, I was appalled by her unprofessional demeanor and harsh vocal tone. As a professional, she should understand how to appropriately interact with vulnerable patients. Despite my clear explanations about why I had taken the phone, Kay remained stubbornly fixated on speaking with T, demonstrating a complete lack of empathy and concern for patient well-being. I sincerely hope no other patients encounter Kay. She desperately needs additional training in communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with vulnerable individuals.
