For roughly a year while living nearby, I mainly had telephone consultations with generally helpful and supportive GPs. However, I'm rating this with 1 star due to a deeply distressing physical examination late last year. During this appointment, the GP was incredibly unprofessional - she mockingly laughed at me over a minor issue with a tissue covering, dismissed my genuine health concerns by claiming I was fabricating symptoms, and insisted I was incorrect about my own body, despite eventually referring me to the hospital. Her treatment left me devastated, and I went home in tears. After filing a formal complaint, I received a response that seemed to minimize my experience, with the practice suggesting she was merely trying to "lighten the mood". I felt completely unsupported and doubt any meaningful action was taken against her. My advice to others is to be vigilant and strongly advocate for yourself, particularly for women facing such dismissive and harmful medical treatment.
