Unprofessional receptionist ruins medical practice experience

I was anticipating a pre-arranged phone consultation today. Surprisingly, I received a text claiming the practice 'attempted to contact me but couldn't connect'. However, no call ever came through! When I responded and called back using the number they supposedly had, I requested to speak with the person who supposedly tried reaching me. Unbelievably, this was deemed impossible! A hostile receptionist declared another call would be scheduled five weeks later! I firmly explained I had not received any previous call and again asked to speak with the First Contact Practitioner. This unprofessional staff member then started shouting and aggressively insisting I had been called, which was completely untrue. Unfortunately, this interaction perfectly embodied the negative stereotypes about medical office receptionists. Their customer service was absolutely abysmal. They desperately need comprehensive training in basic professional skills like communication, empathy, and courtesy. The entire experience was infuriating and unacceptable. I'm rating this one star only because the system doesn't allow zero stars.
