Urgent antibiotics delay puts health at risk

My companion visited a nurse practitioner on July 28th, 2025, at 4:15 pm for a severely infected bite that was showing signs of spreading up her arm, appearing intensely red and swollen. The healthcare provider prescribed antibiotics and assured her they would be electronically transmitted to the pharmacy. However, by 7 pm, the prescription had not been authorized by the physician, preventing the chemist from dispensing the medication. Consequently, she is now forced to delay her critical treatment until the following day, during which time her condition could potentially deteriorate. This level of service is completely unacceptable, and I am thoroughly frustrated by the lack of prompt medical attention.
