Worst healthcare experience with unhelpful gp

Is there truly a GP where doctors don't dismiss patients as neurotic? I arrived with several health concerns. The physician asked what I wanted done. I suggested tests or a specialist referral, thinking, "You're the medical expert here..." Eventually, we agreed on blood tests. I scheduled the appointment, but upon arrival, discovered the doctor hadn't specified test parameters. Another appointment required. I experienced another medical issue, initially misdiagnosed. The first test came back negative, yet symptoms persisted. I had to persistently advocate for additional testing. Currently awaiting results. If negative, I'll continue pushing for further investigation. Absolutely frustrating. Are healthcare professionals here to heal patients or exhaust their patience? 🤦🏼‍♀️ UPDATE 06/02/2024 - The situation deteriorated from bad to absolutely catastrophic! Following the previous incident where the doctor made me determine my own treatment and refused specialist referral, I consulted a private healthcare provider. Surprisingly, my condition was more serious than initially assessed! I underwent initial treatment but require additional care I cannot afford, forcing me to return to THIS GP for a referral. On 31/01, I attempted to book an advance appointment, acknowledging I'm not an emergency case. The receptionist claimed booking procedures changed from 5th February and insisted I book online. Despite explaining we were still in January, she remained unresponsive. I followed her instructions. Yesterday's website was non-functional, and today's capacity was full. Calling yielded another bureaucratic response about booking online tomorrow. This is NOT the genuine NHS protocol—it's merely ONE booking method. Expect a formal complaint letter incoming!
