Introduction
This Review Policy explains how reviews are submitted, verified, moderated, and displayed on the GP Ratings platform. Our goal is to provide a fair and transparent environment where patients can share their experiences and GP practices can respond constructively.
Who Can Submit Reviews
Anyone who has had an experience with a GP practice may submit a review through the GP Ratings platform. Reviews should reflect the reviewer’s genuine experience and must be written honestly and respectfully.
Phone Verification
To help maintain the authenticity of reviews, GP Ratings may require phone number verification before a review is published. This verification process helps reduce spam, automated submissions, and fraudulent reviews. Phone numbers used for verification are not publicly displayed.
Content Guidelines
Reviews must not contain offensive language, threats, discrimination, or harassment. Reviews should not include personal medical records, confidential patient information, or identifiable information about GP staff members. Content that is defamatory, misleading, or unlawful will not be permitted.
Moderation of Reviews
All reviews may be subject to moderation before publication. GP Ratings may review content to ensure it complies with our guidelines and legal requirements. Reviews that contain inappropriate language, personal data, or potentially harmful statements may be edited, summarised, or removed.
Use of Automated Tools
In some cases, automated tools or artificial intelligence may be used to assist in moderating, editing, or summarising reviews for clarity, safety, and legal compliance. The purpose of such moderation is to preserve the core feedback while removing content that violates our policies.
Edited or Moderated Reviews
If a review requires editing due to inappropriate language or potentially defamatory content, GP Ratings may publish a moderated version of the review. The original review content may remain accessible internally for review management purposes by the relevant GP practice.
GP Practice Responses
GP practices are able to respond to reviews through the platform. Practices must ensure that responses remain professional and must not disclose confidential patient information or personal medical details.
Reporting Reviews
If a GP practice or user believes a review violates this policy, it may be reported to GP Ratings for further investigation. Reported reviews will be reviewed by our moderation team and may be edited or removed if they are found to breach our guidelines.
Removal of Reviews
GP Ratings reserves the right to remove or restrict reviews that violate this Review Policy, our Terms of Service, or applicable laws. Reviews may also be removed if they are determined to be fraudulent or submitted in bad faith.
Transparency and Fairness
Our aim is to maintain a balanced and transparent review system. Reviews represent the opinions of individual users and do not necessarily reflect the views of GP Ratings. We strive to ensure reviews remain helpful, respectful, and informative for both patients and GP practices.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Review Policy from time to time to reflect improvements to our moderation processes, legal requirements, or platform features. Any updates will be published on this page with a revised update date.
